Family Day Fish Fry May 14th need ideas and Volunteers "RSVP" for our headcountBut all are invited.

All new joining members we will need a copy of your DD214 for our records, arrive @6:30 if possible.

VFW Post has an Auxiliary that meets same time and location as the VFW, so bring your Spouse if she or he wishes to be part of the Auxiliary.

--Sat May 14th, VFW Fish Fry, Ebenezer Retreat Center, Discuss Who, What When, and Celebrate Mr. Sapp's 100-year Birthday (Friday May 20th) and Marcus Smith both WWII Veterans

--Sat. May 21st, 9:00 -2:00 VFW Post establish a Veterans Information Table in front of Walmart, need Volunteers Celebrate Armed Forces Day

--Sat. May 28th, 9:00 -1:00 VFW Post establish a Veterans Information Table in front of Sam's Club

--Sat. May 28th, 9:00 10:30, Post Flags on Veterans Graves @ Memorial Gardens Springfield, bring a long screwdriver for pilot hole

--Mon. May 30th, 6:00 Memorial Day Event @ Veterans Park Springfield Ga.

Meeting Minutes conducted on Mar 3rd 7:00 @ the United Way Bldg

19:00 Commander Opens meeting with 27 members present; Commander Post the Colors; Chaplain has Opening Prayer; Commander leads Pledge to The Flag; we have a guest speaker from Operation Patriots FOB, from Ridgeland South Carolina. "Joe McNamara" they are a Veterans Organization, they have 238 acres they use for various recreational activities for Veterans and their family, everyone was invited to check the facilities out, their web site is www.facebook.com/operationpatriotsfob;  Officer of The Day secures the meeting room Adjutant has roll call of Officers with all present or accounted for;   minutes of previous meeting are read, corrected, and accepted;;  Quartermaster report is read, verified, and accepted Comrade Bennett was very appreciative of the monetary donation The Post gave his family but he returned it with a Thank you ;  The Post welcomed one new member "Cedric Beeman" Welcome aboard"  a motion was made and carried to make a donation of $200 for storm relief to victims of storm in Bryan County, Comrade Presnell has web site if anyone would like to make personal donations;  The Service Officer report was read and accepted-it was noted that he attended Service Officer training;  motion was made by The Adjutant and carried by the Post to accept The Platform of new Officers for the coming year;  they will be sworn in at next meeting;  continue selling raffle tickets  they need to be turned by 5 May;  one new member needs to turn in his DD214 before being sworn in;  need volunteers to man table at Rincon Spring Fling from 8 Apr thru 17 Apr.  Olde Effingham Days will be 16 Apr starting at 10:00 hrs. We need volunteers to man table; Vidalia Onion Festival and Air Show is 23Apr for anyone interested tickets are $15; The District Meeting is 30Apr in Hawkinsville, meet at Rincon Walmart at 09:300 hrs.  The presentation of JROTC Award is 9Apr at The Career Academy on Hwy 21; 4 May will be Award Day for South Effingham JROTC; 7 May will be cleanup day at The United Way start time  08:00 hrs.  Quartermaster has magnetic VFW signs to display on vehicles.  Chaplain has Closing Prayer; Commander Retires The Colors; Comrade Hancock won the 50/50 raffle; 20;05 meeting is adjourned The Adjutant Richard Dickey
